The triptych, acrylic on wood panel. Dimension: 201 x 106 x 6.5 cm
“Siorraidh” means perpetual or everlasting in Scottish Gaelic. Inspired by the colours seen when I was flying into Kerry Airport, this work draws from various Irish landscapes experienced during that trip. The central panel features a Celtic cross, whose lines reflect the surrounding scenery, highlighting the connection between people and the land.
This triptych comes in an integrated frame whose depth is shaped to reflect the three-dimensional aspect of the work which includes bonded pebbles, pine leaves and twigs collected on that visit. The raised sections created with surgical bandages and plaster are then sealed and painted
