Layers: Blue, Red and Green.

This series of paintings were created whilst exploring the architecture of thought and how ideas and notions are constructed. The layering and overlapping of thoughts brought together in ideas and notions is a tangled process. However, in disparate thoughts we recognise similarity.

The process for making these images is similar. Using six identical templates to apply six layers of thin oil paint to each of the images in the different colours I rotated the templates, so they are placed at different angles in each image so there is nowhere the images are the same and yet despite different colours the similarity is recognisable, through features which appear in each image.
